Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God - Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.-- 1 John 4:7

Sometimes I meet people who are naturally gifted or habituated to love others.  Some people derive genuine joy from making others happy and that are not motivated by a relationship with God to do their kind deeds.  I've always wondered how God judges such people who are naturally motivated to love others and do so without regard to himself.  I'm not sure, but this passage in 1 John implies God values Love itself and makes me wonder about the salvation of people who love without knowing they are fostering knowledge of God.

The New Jerusalem is 2.7 billion cubic miles - Tuesday, September 05, 2006

Nothing deep here. I was just finishing up Revelation recently and noticed that the new Jerusalem is 1400 miles wide, 1400 miles high, 1400 miles deep, e.g. 2.7 billion cubic miles according to Google Calculator

Just to compare, volume of the moon is 5.27 billion cubic miles. So the New Jerusalem is about half the volume of the moon. So if the new city is actually placed on Earth, the Earth is going to wobble a bit.

Help the poor to honor God. - Saturday, July 29, 2006

Those who oppress the poor insult their Maker, those who help the poor honor him. - Proverbs 14:29
God I pray that VillagetheGame comes to fruition in a way that shows your love throughout the entire journey from conception to obsoletion. God help us connect and grow stronger together. Bring the right business partners and the right donors and the right investors.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 God makes everything beautiful in its time. - Saturday, December 03, 2005

Ecclesiastes Chapter 3... 9 What does the worker gain from his toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on men. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. 13 That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.

I thought I posted on this earlier, but I guess I didn't. This verse came to me in a dream that gave me insight about my relationships with women; essentially don't rush romance. Wait for the right woman, instead of getting into half-hearted relationships with women that are really cool, but not the "right woman".

God makes everything beautiful in its time. - Tuesday, October 11, 2005

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."  God help me keep your timing.  Help me not waken love before it is ready.  God protect me from my own cycle of half-hearted romances.  God do ou paint four-dimensionally? Are you orchestrating these moments in and out of dreams in this "real world" to get a message across? God thank you for showing me my hypocracy; I've been saying I'm not going to start a relationship yet spending that much time together IS starting a relationship.  Duhhh  Darian.

love may abound more and more in knowledge - Friday, September 30, 2005

Philippians 1:9-10 (New International Version)

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ,

And this is what I have been struggling with mentally--should I go for a deeper experience of spiritual phenomenon like casting out demons, healing people, clairvoyant intercession, and spiritual warfare, the kind of stuff you read about in Acts and the Gospels but don't often see today OR should I pursue a way to serve through social entrepreneurship, my organically grown passion, arising from all that I've read and done in college and seen at work in the world as being an effective way to "fight for the poor and the oppressed". Are those spiritual gifts something to be developed over time or should I accept current level of experience with spiritual gifts as my permanent level? Should I go forth with my pragmatic wisdom and tell people about the wisdom I found in the Bible or should I commit to loving them exactly like Christ did: healing people, prophecying to them, casting out demons, calming the storms, and miracously multiplying the food supply?
